高三的一道英语选择题,急啊

我们知道by no means ,in no case 和 under no circumstance
都可以表示:决不,在任何条件下都不,为什么不选A?

The teacher demanded that under no circumstances should John change his mind.
=The teacher demanded that John shouldn't change his mind at all under any circumstances.
个人认为这里用by no means是可以的
但意义不同。by no means没有在任何情况下的意思。所以范围上比under no circumstances要窄
如果非要选一个，那就是C了。老师告诫、教导学生的时候，一般都是说在任何情况下都不能怎么样怎么样。
