The Fearless is the last action movie showed by Jat Li, who won the champion of Kong Fu Competition In China when he was 16 years old 1986. After that Li showed his talent in martial arts films such as Shao Lin Si and the series movies Fang Shiyu. When he got to the top of his career in his own country, a chance to enter Hollywood came to him. During the past few years, Li has taken the charge of being a Chinese Honor in Hollywood and he announced that The Fearless would be the last martial arts film for him, and also invited Jay Chow, the most popular pop singer in China , to sing the theme song ,which makes pop song fans go to the theatre to watch the film as well as movie-goers.
The film is set in a 1900s Shanghai and tells the story of a martial arts expert named Huo Yuanjia who did something wrong when he was young and lost most of his favors but a girl saved him and helped him get over all the frustrations. Finally Huo became a Chinese Honor representing the spirit of China Dragon.
The story is quite like Jat Li’s life, said by himself. Li told the public that he had been thinking about showing this movie since a long time ago. And now he finally got a chance. Maybe it is the best way to finish his martial arts career. However , The Fearless is quite a great film that directed by Chinese.
