第二句中应该把"he"改成”it"
”it had been for..."是”因为．．．”的意思
例如”If it had not been for your help,we wouldn't have succeeded."

而be of+名词 并不是所有情况都可以用．在这里curious不是像helpful 那样表性质，而是表特点，应该不能这么用．
